Since laminate is incredibly efficient to install and can often be installed existing flooring, you may not have to worry about ripping out your old flooring and disposing of it! However, you will need to make sure the subfloor is sound, dry, clean, and flat, and your laminate installation will also require an underlayment. This underlayment protects against moisture while insulating your flooring, which will make it sound and feel more like genuine hardwood.
On your laminate installation day, a member of your household who is at least 18 or older should be available to greet the installation crew and show them to the work area. For everyone’s safety, keep children and pets away from the work area, the installation tools, and the rooms receiving new laminate until the job is done. Now is the time to ask your lead installer any questions you might have about the finished product.
