A successful and efficient hardwood installation is greatly enhanced by following key preparation steps. Roll up your sleeves because you will need to remove all furniture from the room and empty any closets beforehand. Since hardwood can't be installed over existing flooring, the old flooring will need to be removed entirely. Contact us for more information on flooring removal and disposal if you need help with this step. Once this step is complete, we'll make sure your subfloor is flat and smooth.
A member of your household who is at least 18 or older should be available to greet the installation crew and show them to the work area. For everyone’s safety, keep children and pets away from the work area, the hardwood installation tools, and the rooms receiving hardwood floors until the job is done. Take this time to ask your lead installer any questions you might have about the finished installation.
